Start with the material information
Care recommendations can vary by tile, natural stone, grout, finish, and sealer. Keep the product information supplied for your project and follow the relevant manufacturer guidance before trying a new cleaner or treatment.
Use a restrained routine
Routine removal of dust, grit, standing water, and soap residue is often more useful than occasional aggressive cleaning. Use soft tools and a cleaner confirmed as compatible with the installed materials.
Avoid experimenting in a prominent area
When a new product is appropriate for the material, test it in a small, inconspicuous location first. Do not combine cleaners, and avoid assuming that a product suitable for one surface is suitable for every stone or tile finish.
Address changes early
If grout, sealant joints, stone, or another part of the installation begins to look different, document the area and ask for guidance before using a harsh treatment. A photograph and the product information can make that conversation more useful.
